Inspire Me Thursday - Beach… and another exhibition

Posted Thursday, July 31 at 12:42 pm by Kirsten

This week’s topic for Inspire Me Thursday is the beach.  The idea for this painting came to me as soon as I read the prompt on their website, but it has taken me a while to get it painted.

I wanted to create something with lots of texture.  This is what I came up with:

Beach Triptych - painting for Inspire Me Thursday

Sorry, it isn’t a very good picture.  The painting is quite large and I took this photo standing on the table and holding the camera as high as the ceiling, and it still doesn’t quite all fit in the frame.  Hope it shows a little bit of the texture I tried to create.

In other news, next week I will be involved in an exhibition called “Through My Eyes”.  I am one of 6 artists exhibiting, and it is the biggest exhibition I have been involved in.  So, if you’re interested and live in the Brisbane area, I’d love to see you there!  Come along to our opening night and you can sip a glass of wine, meet the artists and view some art.

I opened the picture up and it does have great texture. Kind of like a slice of the beach. Can almost see the waves rolling in. Thanks for visiting my blog. Looks like you were even later than me. ;-)

I agree with Laurel, you can really see how beautiful this is when you click to make it larger. I can see why it took you some time to make. I love it.
