Inspire Me Thursday - Ink Blots
Posted Tuesday, March 18 at 4:57 pm by Kirsten
This week’s challenge on Inspire Me Thursday is:

I thought this was a very interesting topic! I was a bit too lazy to get my paints out, and my scrapbooking stuff was right next to me, so I made my inkblot using a piece of scrapbooking paper, some blobs of Making Memories paint (the only colour I have is pink!) and some Kindy Glitz. I folded the paper in half, and this is what it looked like:
I thought it looked like a flower - a tulip or a banksia. I took a photograph of it (because it was still wet and I didn’t want to get paint all over my scanner!) and played around with it in Microsoft Photo Editor. I don’t have a great photoshop type program, and the Microsoft one came with my computer. It has limited editing tools, so I mostly used the “smudge” tool.
After a few minutes of playing with it, this is what I came up with:
I think it looks a little more like a flower now! Let me know what you think.
UPDATE:
Upon looking at my original inkblot picture, Matt said that to him it looked like “boobs”. I must admit I could see what he meant when he pointed to the part of the picture he was talking about.
He inspired me to have another go at editing my picture. This one is an angel. Admittedly, a rather well-endowed one:

Nice set of, err, ‘wings’ on that angel!

Even you don’t have a lot of tools with your programm it looks like it’s painted! Wow! Flower and angel both work great with this one! Enjoyed looking at it, smiles, Anke

It looks like you had some fun with this. I didn’t see the boobs (until you made them appear in he bottom picture), but i did see some poodles with fancy haircuts! The tulip turned out very well - a sure sign f spring!

I must have Easter on the brain this week, because initially I saw a bunny
I love how you used the smudge tool to morph your inkblot into a flower and then again into an angel. Very clever!

I didn’t see the boobs either, until my husband pointed them out. Must be a guy thing!

I see boobs for sure and I think your angel turned out beautiful!!

I see the tulip (beautiful), I see the boobs in your second one, but in the first I saw a stuffed toy dog with pink ears and green bows. I love how you did this digitally — fascinating!
